After a comprehensive review and consultation process, the Australian Standard AS 2008–2013 Bitumen for pavements was published on 18th November, 2013. This is the fourth iteration of the standard, with the original published as AS A10 in 1938 and the most recent version of the standard published in 1997.

OLEXOBIT® MAX is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in sprayed sealing applications to minimise the risk of reflection cracking on existing cracked surfaces where the cracks are active, or where the potential for cracking exists.
OLEXOBIT® A10E is a high performance polymer modified binder (PMB) designed for the highest demand applications. It is used to create durable, rut and fatigue resistant asphalt for roads, freeways, airports and container terminals.
Bitumen is ‘cutback’ by adding controlled amounts of petroleum distillates such as kerosene.

OLEXOBIT® SAM is designed for use in sprayed seal to achieve excellent long-term aggregate retention under high traffic-induced stress, to improve the resistance to reflection cracking where there is a slow to medium rate of crack movement and as a holding treatment on low to medium traffic roads.
OLEXOBIT® A15E is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in dense-graded asphalt to minimise permanent deformation and fatigue cracking. When used in open-graded asphalt, OLEXOBIT® A15E provides increased cohesive strength and durability.
Bitumen burns do not occur very often – however, when they do, they can present a significant risk due to the high temperature of the bitumen and its thick, sticky nature.
Class 170 bitumen is widely used in sprayed sealing and light asphalt applications to provide durability and fatigue resistance. It is also used to manufacture cutback bitumens, bitumen emulsions and modified bitumens.

OLEXOBIT® S10E is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in sprayed sealing applications to alleviate the reflection of cracks on existing cracked surfaces where the cracks are active and a SBS-modified binder is preferred.
OLEXOBIT® A20E is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in asphalt applications to provide increased cohesive strength and durability in open-graded asphalt. When used in dense-graded asphalt, OLEXOBIT® A20E delivers medium levels of resistance to rutting and fatigue.
1st edition – May 2009This report covers the common polymer modifiers available in Australia, briefly describes the history of Australian PMB specifications and reports on over 15 years of favourable experience in the use of PBD‑modified S35E binders in sprayed seals across a variety of temperature and service conditions within Australia.
OLEXOBIT® S20E is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in sprayed sealing applications to alleviate the reflection of cracks on existing cracked surfaces where the cracks are active and a SBS-modified binder is preferred.
OLEXOBIT® A25E is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in open-graded and thin-surfacing asphalt applications to provide increased cohesive strength, durability and resistance to abrasion.
OLEXOBIT® S25E is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in strain alleviating membrane interlayer (SAMI) applications prior to the placement of asphalt.
OLEXOBIT® A35P is a polymer modified binder (PMB) that is designed for use in dense-graded asphalt where increased asphalt modulus is required to enhance pavement stiffness, or to provide resistance to high surface shear forces.
OLEXOBIT® S45R is versatile sprayed seal binder prepared with Australian sourced waste tyre rubber. OLEXOBIT S45R suitable for use in extreme stress seal applications. It can also be applied to alleviate the reflection of cracks on existing cracked surfaces where the cracks are active.
